INDIA, ALLA SCOPERTA DELL'INDIA (THE INDIA's DISCOVERY) is a TV series of eight episodes of 60 minutes each, plus an summary episode of 60 minutes: "ATMAN" that was presented to Premio Italia (Italy's Award). This series was produced by italian TV network RAI 1 in 1966; is the story of a long journey in India between past and present and was directed by Folco Quilici in collaboration with the Directors Alfredo Pinelli and Ezio Pecora. The score, instrumented and directed by Maestro Francesco De Masi, had a considerable success; all the best musicians of the time were part of the orchestra. The series won the Tv journalism award Italy in 1969. Francesco De Masi was undoubtedly one of the most prolific composers of soundtracks that include such classics as: UNA BARA PER LO SCERIFFO (1965), ARIZONA COLT (1966), 7 WINCHESTERS PER UN MASSACRO (1967), VADO, L’AMMAZZO E TORNO (1967) and AMMAZZALI TUTTI E TORNA SOLO (1968). He can be counted among the most significant composers of soundtracks in the history of Italian cinema in the second half of the 20th century.
